Wine Profile
The Barrel Aged Chardonnay follows the guiding philosophy: oak should be to wine as seasoning is to food—enough to add interest and complexity but not so much that it overwhelms.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of vanilla, peach, pear, and toasty oak with a smooth, rich texture and a long, refreshing citrus finish.
Winemaker Notes
The winemaking team works with a combination of new, one and two-year old barrels from oak grown in France, the United States and Canada. Some of the wine is fermented then aged in barrels; some is fermented in stainless steel then transferred to barrel for aging. The diversity adds complexity, flavour notes and balance.
Food Pairing Notes
A lovely versatile wine, this lighter Chardonnay goes well with white meats (try with Chicken Fried Rice) and creamy dishes (a simple Mac 'n Cheese).

About every two years, Strewn makes a limited amount of Icewine from red grapes and the 2013 vintage delivers beautiful flavour and texture. The juice was over 40 Brix when the grapes were pressed in early January 2014. A lovely rustic red hue and luscious palate displaying fabulous berry and dried fruit. -

95 Points - Edward Rasiulis 92 Points - Rick VanSickle Strewn Three, our flagship red wine, is a three varietal blend that is unique each time it is made. The 2016 vintage is drinking remarkedly well and is round, smooth and silky. Will cellar another 5+ years. The 2016 Strewn Three is our magnum opus from a memorable growing season which will go down in the books as one of the most stellar vintages in recent history. A specially crafted Bordeaux-styled assemblage of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc and 22% Merlot harvested from the premium Home Farm vineyard, with a single barrel of Cabernet Franc selected from the winery owner’s vineyard. The varietals were aged separately in oak for a period of 20 months, prior to the blending of 26 specially selected barriques, from both new (54%) and seasoned 46%) barrels, from French, Canadian and American cooperages. A wonderful example of an assemblage which not only displays the strengths of the individual Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, but the greater tasting experience that comes with a well-integrated marriage of the varietals.
